Having an authentic Agassiz watch is like owning a piece of history. Given that the company no longer exists outside of collectors markets and history books, having an actual working Agassiz is like owning lost treasure. Part of the excitement of owning old watches is in the history of the brand; this is especially true for brands no longer in active production. Agassiz has a rich tradition and history in the world of horology and at one point stood shoulder to shoulder with the greats of the industry, particularly around the turn of the century.

The Agassiz Watch Company was established in 1876 by Georges Agassiz. Georges set up his company with a vision to create timepieces that would be world famous for their quality of manufacture and precision. Right from the start it was decided that they would make whole watches and not use cheap imported watch cases for any of their movements. This commitment to quality and precision made the Agassiz watch company at one time at par with the great watchmakers of the time like Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin and Cartier to name a few.
In the early to mid 1900s, Agassiz established a reputation as a premium supplier of high-grade repeater pocket watch movements, chronometers and great looking, almost military style watches. But sadly spiraling costs led to the subsequent closure of the brand and the factory.
Keeping this tradition and history in mind, WeBuyWatches.com guarantees high appraisal and safe and respectful handling of your precious Agassiz watch. These exceptional timepieces are sought after by collectors for their rarity and precision as much as they are sought after for their history. Selling your Agassiz watch is a decision you should never overlook.
