Breitling has long been associated to its roots in aviation, and is known for creating stylish watches while maintaining a strict philosophy of precision engineering.

Leon Breitling started the line back in 1884 in the quaint town of St. Imer, Switzerland. What he had in mind were chronographs with high-precision, making them perfect for scientific and industrial purposes. Breitling believed that it was a great opportunity and one which he did not plan to miss.

Unfortunately, Leon Breitling passed away in 1914 before Breitling watches became almost synonymous to aviator watches. It was his son, Gaston, who created the first wristwatches under Breitling, the same watches he distributed to pilots since the technology used in the watches were made to be accurate tools for timekeeping in planes.

It was in 1932 when Breitling watches really established its connection with the aviation industry. That time, the company was under Willy Breitling. Gaston's son managed to get an exclusive contract with United Kingdom's air force, the Royal Air Force or RAF. Being associated with the world's oldest independent air force proved to be one of Breitling's benchmarks. Suffice to say that business thrived after this particular deal.

Of course, when you are in business, time's a wasting if you do not ride on your current success. Breitling did not waste any. Breitling released Navitimer to further solidify its relationship with the aviation industry. The Navitimer was known for its so-called navigation computer which can handle flight plan calculations, a unique feature that was greatly appreciated by pilots all over the world. The technology used in manufacturing Navitimer was so impressive that an astronaut, Scott Carpenter, suggested a 24 hour-dial watch to make it possible to use for space travel. Breitling was more than willing to incorporate his suggestion resulting to Cosmonaute Navitimer. In 1962, the 24 hour Navitimer worn by Carpenter made it to outer space.

From then on, Breitling was held in high esteem not only by aviators but by watch aficionados as well.

Watch aficionados that we are, we are interested in acquiring Breitling watches. If you are looking to sell your watch, we buy watches including Breitling Emergency, Breitling Chronomat, Breitling Super Avenger, Breitling for Bentley Motors, and of course, Breitling Navitimer.
