Born in 1958, Franck Muller expressed an interest in watches at a very young age. He finally got himself into a watchmaking school by the time he reached 15 and from then on, Muller has been passionate about nothing else.
It took a while before Franck Muller finally created a watch he can truly call his own. It was in 1984 when he finished his first tourbillon watch. During those years, watchmakers who can produce such timepieces can be counted on one hand. Recognized for his talent, watch collectors continually sought Muller's watches and it led to the opening of the House of Franck Muller in 1991.
For somebody who takes pride in creating complicated timepieces, it is easy to imagine how Muller felt when one of his watches is considered the “most complicated wristwatch in the world” only a year after he officially founded his company. This benchmark signified the start of the brand's World Premier.
In 1993, Franck Muller introduced its first World Premier—a watch with split seconds chronograph minute repeater, perpetual calendar, and an indicator of internal temperature. Since then, the company releases a new World Premier each year featuring something new in the watchmaking industry.
It was in 1998 when Franck Muller lived up to its name again by producing another watch regarded as the most complicated wristwatch of the world. The said watch had an added chronograph with a 60-minutes counter and power reserve indicators on top of the mechanisms of the first World Premier.
Franck Muller has more timepieces to offer such as the Master Banker, which is able to indicate multiple time zones, and the Curves Minute Repeater Tourbillon, which is so highly complex that its production is restricted to 25 pieces.
